Dr. Frank Hu
Dr. Hu is Chair and Professor of Nutrition and Epidemiology at the T.H. Chan School of Public Health at Harvard University. He is also a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Channing Division of Network Medicine, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Director of Boston Nutrition Obesity Research Center (BNORC) Epidemiology and Genetics Core, a Co-Director of Program in Obesity Epidemiology and Prevention, HSPH and Director of Harvard Transdisciplinary Research in Energetics and Cancer Center. His research interests include: epidemiology and prevention of type 2 diabetes and metabolic diseases through diet and lifestyle, gene-environment interactions and risk of obesity and type 2 diabetes, nutritional metabolomics in type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, and obesity, metabolic phenotypes, and cardiovascular disease in Chinese populations. Dr. Hu has published over 800 peer-reviewed papers in top journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, JAMA Internal Medicine, Lancet, Nature Genetics, Internal Journal of Epidemiology, and American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. He has also published a textbook on Obesity Epidemiology (Oxford University Press, 2008). Dr. Hu was elected to The U.S. National Academy of Medicine in 2015.
